Tramping!!
On Thursday the 9th of March room 13 set off on a tramp with Mr Lousely and some parent helpers. As we left camp children were excited and anxious to go on the tramp. The first section of the tramp was a steep climb and kids were collecting good sturdy sticks to help them get up the hill.
Once we got to the end of the hill people were already tired, but there was a berry bush so we ate some berries and had a little break.
The second part of the tramp was when we started the big climb and kids were super tired but we weren't even an hour in. The hill was very steep so every 5 minutes we had to wait for people. Sometimes we would have a bit of food if it was a particularly steep part of the hill. The climb went for about 3 hours and once we got to the top everyone was relieved because it was time to have lunch. On the way down it was super fun because we could just slide down like we were on a slippery slip ānā slide. When we got to the flat bit it started raining and we could hear thunder claps as we gassed it all the way back to Camp Waiora. In total it took 6 hours and 14 minutes. It was a good experience and we had a lot of fun.
