Room 16 discover the magic of picture books.

This week room 16 have been looking closely at a range of picture books. The purpose of this study is to analyse, break the code and make meaning of the authors message, illustrations and construction of text. The class have been working in mixed ability groups discussing all of the above. It has been great to see students taking leadership, presenting back to the class as reporters and using plenty of student voice and agency to drive the next step. After developing these skills the students of room 16 are really looking forward to creating and retelling their very own picture books through role play, expression, voice and even movie making.
