Room 17 Camp Berwick 2016

Grant Philips —

We were lucky enough to call Camp Berwick our home and classroom last week. On our return we have all written a recount of some of our amazing experiences at camp.

The Flying Fox,

I remember the flying fox, was one of the most fun things at camp. When I got up I felt terrified. It was amazingly high up! As I was hopping on and putting on the harness, I was freaking out. But when I was flying down I was amazed at how fun it really was! I was annoyed as I was getting off that it went so quick and I desperately wanted another go. Luckily I got one. The second time down I turned around and waved to Sarah. But at the end to stop you there was a couple of tires and it made a pretty big thump when you hit it! Both times the person at the end was Richard and he helped everyone get off safely. I loved the flying fox and i’m sure everyone else did too.

That was the flying fox.

The Night Line,

I remember Mr Phillips told the class about the night line and I instantly wanted to do it. As we were about to do it I was having regrets. I was afraid and I felt like all my confidence had disappeared. But when Mr Phillips saw that all of us were scared he said no one would be scaring us. As we started we all were blindfolded and we had to use a rope to lead us through the forest. I was very surprised at how easy it was. At first I was with Ngaio but then we split up. As I was going around a tree I heard Mr Phillips telling someone they were done and I knew I was near the end. I found the night-line really cool and i'm pretty sure everyone who did it enjoyed it as well.

 That was the night line.
