Year 7's Term

Karen Parker —

A busy term ahead with swimming, Kia Kaha, tramping and climate change

Welcome to term three. The year 7's have a busy term getting out and about.  We have started the term off with our swimming programme and will continue throughout the term.  The students will be covering deep water, kayaking and Just Swim lessons.

All year 7 classes will be organising their winter tramps to either Mount Cargill or the Pineapple track.  If there are any keen walkers out there please let your class teacher know.

We will be studying climate change this term and Room 15 were lucky to have Mark come and talk to us about his time in Antarctica and what the environment and climate was like. They also got to try on some clothing which he wore while he was down there.  The class was amazed by the length of darkness an Antarctica had during winter.

Some of the classes will be trialling some project base learning this term making a variety of bird feeders, bee rests, beeswax wraps and much more.
