Silly Goose

Karen Parker —

Today we were greeted with a Goose on the Lagoon.

What a difference a week of rain makes to the Tomahawk Lagoon. We have been monitoring aspects of the lagoon every fortnight, and over the past month the water level has been on a steady rise.

However today we noticed a significant increase in the depth of water which has risen to 50cm. The highest we have seen all year. This has brought with it a very murky and silty appearance to the lagoon due to the run off from the hills and the strong winds over the past few days.

We noticed less swans on the lagoon today than we have had in the past but there were not signs of dead swans which we had been noticing over the past month.

We were lucky to see a new arrival today a goose was hanging out by the swans, safely watching us from a distance.
