Looking back through term 3

Karen Parker —

Korf Ball, swimming, tramping, Poly fest, Stars on Stage, 7 YearS.

The Year 7's have had a very successful and rounded term. There have been many successes in the Year 7 part of the school this term involving sports teams, cultural groups and individual achievement.

All students have completed P.E lessons in Korf ball. This sport combines netball and basketball in a fun and enjoyable game. The students have learnt a lot and really improved their shooting distance. This is a new sport to Tahuna and it has been greatly received by the students.

Almost all classes have completed their winter tramps up Mount Cargill.  Great success for all.  Thank you to the parents and caregivers who have taken time to accompany us on our trips.

Swimming has been very successful with the students being able to rotate 360 in a kayak as well as get themselves out from underneath.  The high dive has also been successful with almost all children being able to enter the deep water from a height of over three metres.  The over all swimming of our Year 7 students has greatly increased through Swimsation, with some children graduating from level 6, the highest level. Thank you to the Year 7 teachers for taking these activities.

Congratulations to all the Year 7's who have experienced success this term.  Enjoy your holiday break.
