Piere Tapsell meets his Long Jump hero, Mile Powell of USA who holds the World Record (set in 1991) of 8.95M.

Upon Mike learning Piere's best jump distance (4.17M) he said: "Gosh that is further than me at the same age! Don't you go breaking my world record now!" He joked. Piere replied: "I am going to try my hardest to do exactly that!"

Mike with lots of smiles, then discussed technique with Piere before signing the back of his brand new Tahuna School sports shirt. "Go break my record young man!"

"Oh heck, we have to buy another shirt!" Piere's parents groaned on seeing the famous signature now on his back.
