Camp Tirohanga 2017

Room 6 & Emma Stuart —

Room 6 was the second year 7 class to embark on their class camp in week 3. The week was filled with amazing weather, activities, class bonding and co-operation.

Room 6's adventure started with a 3hr tramp of the Outram Glen track on Wednesday morning. We stopped to have a stone skimming competition with many talented students reaching the far side of the river bank. There was possible sightings of 'Ongaonga' a nasty nettle we have been reading about in class. We also spotted many friendly fantails.

On arrival at camp we pitched our tents and walked up into the pine tree plantation, where we created some amazing Bivvies, some of would have been sturdy enough to sleep in.

We mastered our cooking skills on the camp cookers, creating nachos, burgers, cooked eggs for breakfast and some delicious pancakes.

There were many highlights of our camp including our glow worm night walk, exploring the confidence course, shooting the air riffles with Mr Scoles and playing spotlight.

An amazing start to our year with development of friendships and class culture!
