Year 7 News

Karen Parker —

Otago Marine Science Aquavan Visit.

In week 5 the Year 7's had a visit from the Aquavan. The Aquavan provided the children with the opportunity to learn about our catchment area, local marine science and to meet some of the local sea creatures. The Aquavan also included some touch tanks from the aquarium.

There were two very cute feeder crabs who cleaned their tank in unison and looked like they were dancing to their own beat.

The Year 7 students have been busy working on their science fair projects and undertaking class and individual experiments. It is great to see so many keen scientist following their interests. It is also impressive walking around the classes and hearing some of the great ideas the children are investigating. We look forward to the school science expo in the last week of term.

We have just farewelled our Masters Teachers who have been with our classes for six weeks. They have done a fantastic job teaching the students and we wish them all the best for the future.

The Year 7's have been busy representing the school in hockey, netball, rippa rugby, EPRO8. There have been some impressive sports scored and teams continue to work together and improve each week.

Currently the classes are working on Matariki celebrations and they are  looking forward to sharing their work with the community next Wednesday at our Matariki evening.
