R11 goes Rock Climbing!

Jess Lang —

On the 5th of September 2021, Room 11 went to Long Beach and did some rock climbing.

We had already done some practice a few weeks prior at Logan Park, but that was nowhere near as fun and challenging as Long Beach! We arrived at the beach via van and car and were separated into two groups. One group went rock climbing and the other group went to the nearby park and ate some food, and we swapped around halfway.

My group did the rock climbing first and we had a lot of fun. The instructor, Tim, showed us how to do everything and we spent the next while climbing the huge rocks.

The first wall I climbed was the one Tim told us was the hardest. It took me about 5 minutes to climb up and it was exhilarating, and it was all worth it for the amazing view from the top of the rocks. It was quite challenging at first but eventually almost everyone had climbed at least 3 walls.

All in all it was a wonderful experience and one of the highlights of my time at Tahuna so far.
