This term we have been focusing on Kaitiakitanga and learning that we are all kaitiaki of the past (guardians)

We started by learning about the technology and innovation that brought people to Aotearoa. We read stories, articles and watched videos on Tupaia the master navigator, who is often left out of New Zealand's story! 

Tupaia was Captain Cook's navigator and interpreter. He prevented many deaths and created some peace between the British and Maori with his ability to speak the language and his mana.
