Writing About Anything

Petra Leonard —

As part of room 12's curriculum, we have been learning narratives. Narratives are when you tell a story from someone's point of view. We have also been learning about show not tell. Here's an example of our writing.

Miss Leonard tells us to sit on the mat. I know I should be more descriptive but this is the quick 15! I had just finished writing up my daily quote on the whiteboard where Miss Leonard allows me to write, "hit the hyperdrive chewy!"- Han Solo it said. Straight after I rushed to the mat(because I was the last one there). We kids were all finding a comfortable place to sit while Miss Leonard played around with her fast alike fingers, surfing across the keyboard. Then Miss L said quietly( because we were all so quiet)"we are doing a quick 15". I didn't mind. Until she put on the whiteboard the one thing I didn't want to write about, cats! We have been writing about cats, cats and cats for the past week! She was scrolling through the pictures of cats when I just couldn't hold it in anymore. I semi-politely asked her, "do we have to write about cats?" She just sent me away with "yep". I was disappointed. So I have decided to write about cats. Just incase she gets angry with what I wrote, I will write this. The cat was angry. The end
