Year 8 Programme and Activities

Salote Rouvi —

Check out the article below to find out what is happening in Year 8 for Term 3.

Term 2 proved to be a great term for the year 8 students. Teachers were impressed with the work that was produced for Sustainability, the maturity shown for Standing Up for Myself and Others for Health, and the commitment to the Year 8 Swimming programme.

Term 3 is no different from the first 2 terms where it is full of lots of exciting units of work and activities for our year 8 students. Below is a list of some of the happenings planned:

*High School Visits

*Rock climbing at Logan Park and Long Beach

*Otago University Chemistry Department Visits

*Science Lessons in the Tahuna Science Lab

*Stars on Stage

*Otago Polyfest

*Athletics / Otago Cross Country

*Vistors from Remuera Intermediate and China

*Tahuna Open Night and Open Nights for High Schools

*Trips to the Ski Field and Stewart Island

As you can see there is an extensive list of activities planned for our year 8 students. We take pride on what we have to offer and look forward to this years cohort enjoying the list above. High expectations of behaviour are expected and will secure a students spot in participating in all of the activities planned.

If you have any queries regarding year 8, please make contact with your child's classroom teacher. We look forward to our continued work together as the students work through their final 2 terms at Tahuna Intermediate (time of which I am sure has gone quickly for most of you).

Ngā Mihi,
