Room 9 Marble Runs with Mr Bardsley!

Jess Cooper —

Last week, Room 9 created marble runs out of recycled materials. There were some amazing designs and creations.

Mr Bardsley, our student teacher, took us for a couple of lessons of technology. Our task was to create marble runs out of recycled materials that we brought from home. We had a variety of different things to use such as cardboard boxes, egg cartons, toilet rolls, yoghurt containers, milk bottles etc. We then had specific challenges to work towards.

One - the marble had to stay in the run for 10 seconds

Two - the longest distance once the marble left the run

We had two sessions to create our runs and then we got to trial them and compete for prizes! Kruize Seath, Nathan Sinclair and Flynn Stewart won the challenge for the longest distance and Jacob Buckby, Noah Taylor and Dylan Garmonsway won the challenge for the longest run (6 seconds in the run).

It was such a fun activity and we really enjoyed designing and creating things! Plus, we were able to take the marble run apart and recycle the materials we used!
