Rm 16 Rock Climbing

Kelsey Brocklebank —

Last Tuesday Room 16 went to Logan Park High School for a field trip based around a future trip to Long Beach.

We went on a bus to Logan Park High School and when we got there we got split into two groups; one of the groups went to the climbing wall while the other went to a park. The group that went to the park ate lunch and played in the field while the others climbed. The groups rotated between the activities then got back on the bus and headed back to school. When climbing we would be-lay people up and down the walls in groups, the groups would rotate between who was climbing, be-laying and who was the rope support: the climber would slip the rope into their harness, whilst the be-layer created a knot on a carabiner which was attached to their harness and the rope support held the rope loosely to allow the be-layer to feed or take away rope from the climber.
