Great end to Japanese/French Elective 2021

David Owen —

We rounded off our 2021 Japanese/French Elective with two of our most popular activities - a trip to the local Petanque Club and a feast!

On the penultimate Friday of Term 3, our Japanese/French Elective group made the short trip across to the St. Kilda Petanque Club to experience the quintessentially French game of petanque (a.k.a. boules).

Club members very generously gave up their time to teach our students some basic rules and, before we knew it, there were some very enjoyable (and competitive!) games of petanque underway. A great experience for all involved.

The following Friday, students got to enjoy the always popular Japanese/French feast. There was baguette with brie and camembert. There were chocolate eclairs. The green tea ice cream was a big hit! Not to mention nori and wasabi peas and many other Japanese treats. It was hard working eating for almost a full hour but everyone seemed pretty happy!
