We're halfway though our Novel Study in R6 and I can see what J K Rowling is talking about.

In Rūma Ono we've been delving deep into novels, working with groups on literacy circle roles and completing our activities linking to reinforcing comprehension skills.

It has been a joy to see the class reading books they may not necessarily have chosen for themselves and loving the new author or genre.

When working with their novel study group in literacy circles they each take on a role with activities to complete and share with their group during our group huis. Roles include being a leader, clarifier, summariser, questioner and predictor.

Talk with your child about their novel and help foster that love of reading.
