Tech

Manuel Wehi —

Written by Emma, Paige, Brodie and Matthew.

This week we had our first Tech sessions. Here are some photos and articles written about our experiences.

Hard Materials - Emma Chaney
The teacher of hard materials tech is Mr Tait, He is very kind and funny. Our project for it is plant boxes to go outside the new library. Then after that we can make something else. He showed us how to saw and drill holes into the wood and get the right angles and straight lines. He also taught us how to measure and more. Everyone in this tech class is very kind. We also have assigned tables to sit and work at. The things you can make in this tech class are incredible, you can make anything you want after the plant boxes and Mr Tait can help you plan it and get you started and he will probably have all the materials you will need to do your project. Hard material tech ( Design Tech ) is really really fun and cool. If you don't know what Hard material tech is like designing and building from scratch you could make a cutting board or even a working cat clock! There is a lot of stuff you can do in hard material tech.

E tech - Matthew Jenkins
This week was our first week in E-Tech. We started off attempting to programme a robot. I got halfway through programming mine. I found it challenging but at the same time it was very fun! I look forward to next week's tech sessions and the challenges I will face!

Art Tech - Brodie Rowe
The first day of art tech was fun. We got to do match the artwork with the designer and create what you think of. I did a realistic drawing of a rubber and a glue stick but unfortunately I did not finish in time. For homework we had to do a title page and I am already finish. We had to use lots of different colours. I really like art tech!

Food Tech - Paige Carrington
On the first day at food tech we all got put into kitchen groups. After we did that we learned the proper names for kitchen utensils and how to use them. We did a little test where you had to fill in the blank spaces. We had to do that to earn our cocking licences. We watched a funny video of these two people who did the right and wrong thing in the kitchen. After that we had to fill out another sheet of paper. Once we did the sheet Mrs Scott talked to us for a little bit and then gave us our homework. Our homework is to make a cover page for our folders. It was so fun and I'm so excited to make some food.
