Room 13 joined Room 14 on the 11th of November at Queens Gardens to commemorate Armistice Day. This was followed by a trip to Toitu Museum to learn more about World War I. 

Yesterday, room 13 and room 14 went to Rememberance Day commemorations.

First up, we had the ceremony. I was surprised by the ceremony, and by the fact that it was so directed by the speaker. For the ode, only the speaker spoke. Only the choir sung the anthem. No plane flew over. However, I am still glad we went, as it is an important day.

Next came Toitu. We started off with a treasure hunt. I most enjoyed the ship area. The attention to detail was perfect. The main light was coming from an oil lamp,  which swung on a revolving motor, making it look realistic. You could barely see the rubber seal. The lamp also flickered irregularly, making it look especially realistic.

Then we went to a classroom and learnt about WW1. Did you know that Samoa used to be a German owned country? 

Overall, it was a good day, and I'm glad we went.
