Nutritionally it is important that children:
1. Eat a variety of foods.
2. Eat enough for activity and growth.
3. Drink plenty of water during the day.
Tahuna has now signed up to the Breakfast Club which is kindly provided by Sanitarium (Weetbix) and Fonterra. KickStart Breakfast is one way that Sanitarium and Fonterra give back to communities and is part of our commitment to promoting health and nutrition through a great start to the day.
This means that if students require a healthy well-balanced breakfast they are able to access this at school, free of charge. If children wish to partake they are more than welcome to go to the Food Tech Room between 8:25 and 8:45 am each day if they feel they would like a bowl of weetbix to get them off to a positive start.
We ask that students clean up after themselves, by doing their dishes and ensuring the area is as tidy as they found it.
KickStart Breakfast begins at Tahuna in week 3 (week beginning 16th May)!!!!
