Rory's Piping at the Highlanders!

Rory has been selected to Pipe for the opening home games for the Highlanders this season

Rory has been piping since he was five. Since moving to Dunedin and New Zealand at the start of this year, he joined JMC Pipe Band. The Pipe Band were looking for people to open games at the stadium and Rory put his name forward and was selected. He is one of the youngest pipers to ever do it! It means that Rory always gets a backstage pass to the games and after his game with the Highlanders vs Hurricanes, he even got a signed ball from Aaron Smith! Keep an eye out tonight for Rory at the Highlanders vs Force game!

NZ Sign language week in Room 5

T A H U N A

This week in Room 5, we have been learning sign language. We are trying to learn the national anthem and Pepeha by Six 60. Room 5 has had lots of fun learning each other's names and the alphabet with each other.

We are looking forward to being able to have the skill of fluent sign language.

It has been really fun so far and enjoy the learning experience and hope that soon our whole class can sign the national anthem! Come into our shared space and have a go!
