Room 17 heads to Camp!

In Week 4, Room 17 headed to Camp Waiora. Here are some of our reflections!

Camp was a really fun experience and I really loved it. It gave everyone a chance to bond and connect with each other. My favourite activity had to be the tramp, I struggled with it but I think it enlightened something in me and got me to push through. I especially liked all the creeks and rivers because it cooled my feet down. Let's move on to the more exciting parts... the Camp concert! It was really fun and I got to dance an sort of reconnect with myself.Tent and cabins were really fun talking with my cabin when we could but more importantly I got sleep!

Camp was the best time of my life! It was such a great experience and a very open space to connect with others and make new friends. In the  mornings I would get up, have breakfast and then play football. My favourite activity was the tramp because I love nature and going on that tramp I really bonded with everyone and I had a great time. On Monday we had amazing nachos and we also had supper (so they call it) I would say we had dessert anyways! We had a nice warm milo and a really good creamy vanilla ice cream with a cone and it was so good. The second night we had burgers and they were also good and the desert was apple crumble and last but not least cream. It was so good I loved it so much. We also went on a waterslide and it was really fun. I loved camp so much, thanks for reading.

Camp was so fun! On the first day we built forts and did archery. We also went biking through deep water. The fort building was so fun. The teachers even turned it into a game for who could build the best fort. I also loved the archery. I shot one of the arrows over the target! Biking through the puddle was so hard. My feet were sopping wet! That night we had some awesome nachos! We also had ice cream for dessert! The next day was awesome. We did fun things like playing football. The game was so fun! We also went on a tramp. It was like a game of hopscotch because we were hoping from rock to rock to avoid a puddle. Then for dinner we had really good burgers. They had so much flavour! The next day we ate awesome desserts. There was so much variety. We also did the confidence course and a scavenger hunt. Overall that was the best camp trip ever!

Camp was a really fun experience for me. I loved archery because on my first go I hit the target, sadly I didn't hit the bullseye but it didn't matter because no one else in my class hit it either. I also enjoyed the biking apart from we had to bike through a river and got our feet soaking wet . The other things we did were bivvies , waterslide , putting up tents , tramp , cooking pancakes (which was really cool) . My friends and I were the hosts of our (Room 17 & 18) camp concert all of the performances were fantastic sadly me and my friends weren't the winners but we did win our scavenger hunt on the last day , we also won cleanest cabin.

Camp was really fun it gave everyone a chance to make new friends over the three days. My favourite activity at camp was cycling because my dad teaches me how to ride my bike and we go to Signal Hill. On the second day we did the tramp, it was painful! It felt like my legs were gonna fall off. We went river jumping from rock to rock. The best part of the tramp was getting it over with, then on that afternoon we did the water slide. On the last day I went to confidence course I got timed I got 1.30 seconds. Overall that camp was pretty good!
