The school year is almost over and despite the spectre of COVID and the interruptions it has caused we can reflect on very successful year. Well done Tahuna and thank you all for your wonderful support throughout the year.

Congratulations to our students who participated in the annual competitions & piano exams. Archie Arlidge-Cardoza and Ditte Sofie Kjaegaard are pictured here with their trophies and medals from the 2021 NZMSM Competitions. John den Dulk obtained a smashing 99% in his very first exam. Their dedication to music is priceless. All pupils of Dr Ahila James.

Art Elements acrylic and watercolour paints, illusions and fine tip pens are what the year 7 students have been learning about in Art.

It has been great to see our girls competing and having fun while learning new skills.

Congratulations to Tahuna Band Queen Neptune for winning Best Original Song two years in a row, and to the Jazzaholics' Benji Egan for winning Best Keyboardist two years in a row as well!

A lot of learning about values of colour and shading.

Seeing Double? Even Triple? This year we have had seven sets of twins and one set of triplets, not to mention two twins on staff.

Students have been learning new vocabulary and putting this into correct sentences. We have learnt about "tense markers, verbs, nouns and plurals."

Year 7 Marae Week is taking place 22-25th of November

Best week on Rakiura ever. All the students had a big part to play in that. Big thank you to Mr Lousley, Miss Walsh, Mr Hunter & Wayne. We would also like to thank Ant from Mamaku Point and Ian from Aurora Charters for contributing to a great week.

The University of Otago Marine Studies and the Portobello Aquarium extension science programmes.

Our group of 20 strong water testers have been working on feeding back to the community about the birds they have observed over the past 18 months.

On the 5th of September 2021, Room 11 went to Long Beach and did some rock climbing.

Photography is an elective available in T2 and T3 for students who have a love of taking and editing photos.

Over the first three weeks of term four we have been learning how to ride bikes safely.

Every Wednesday afternoon at Edgar Tahuna teams are battling hard on the futsal courts.

The JR McKenzie Youth Education Fund has a proud tradition of supporting families in need of financial assistance, with the purchasing of a school uniform. Applications close 9 December 2022.

We rounded off our 2021 Japanese/French Elective with two of our most popular activities - a trip to the local Petanque Club and a feast!

At the end of term 3, Room 4 students all completed the Hell's Pizza Challenge to each read 7 books.

Although our groups performed to an empty Edgar Stadium over two days, the performances went out live, so family and friends could still see the culmination of the hours of practice put in by everyone. This even included holiday practices.

Jess and Flo from Yeah!Girls Otago ran their first session at Tahuna today with an awesome turnout! They will be here for the next fours weeks so keep an eye on the notices to find out what days!
