Year 7 Food Technology

What the sugar?! Students have been learning how to read a food label and decipher the nutritional information with a key focus on sugar in drinks.

Did you know that health recommendations are for children to consume 3 teaspoons of free sugar per day and for adults 6 teaspoons.

Students were surprised and somewhat shocked to find out that some sports/fizzy and energy drinks contained between 6-19 teaspoons per serving!!

Year 7 students also individually designed and created their own rice based snacks, check out some of these creative and delicious finished products.
