Anzac Day 2023

In what has long been a tradition for Tahuna and many other Dunedin schools, a group of Tahuna students once again represented the school at both the recent Dawn Parade and the Andersons Bay posy laying ceremony.

Fifteen Tahuna students joined the 2023 Dawn Parade on Anzac Day.  They witnessed a moving service on what turned into a beautiful morning. There is nothing quite like watching the sun rise as a backdrop to the Dawn Service.

At the conclusion of the Service, the Tahuna group joined others in laying a wreath on behalf of the school community.

A few hours later, we were then up at the Andersons Bay Cemetery for the first full posy laying ceremony since 2019. Once again, Tahuna students were present. Tahu McGinty did an outstanding job of reading the Ode to the assembled crowd in both te reo māori and English. Here, a wreath was also laid on behalf of the school community.
