Performing Arts At Tahuna

Electives have started and we have a high number of students participating in Dance, Theatre Sports and Aerobics.

We are very lucky to have Eve O'Connor creating and teaching our Hip Hop routine. Dance is very much alive at Tahuna and we have a specialised Hip Hop group training for the Otago Hip Hop competition, they are being trained by two very experienced ex-students Georgia and Aleece.

We have been fortunate to see two High School Productions this term, Bayfield's "Wizard of Oz" and King's/Queen's "Little Shop of Horrors. Our Year 8 Performing Arts students were inspired.

Several of our students have had success in the recent Dunedin Performing Arts competition. One in particular, Pippa de Boer who achieved top success across the genres:

- Junior musical theatre award winner - Junior championship winner - Junior aggregate points winner

- Supreme dancer under 12 years

Well done Pippa and congratulations to Yana Dewey who also had success in her age group.
