As part of our Kaitiaki of Self unit (being guardians of ourselves) R6 students have been writing all about themselves in a really unique way.
This week we have been discussing and co-constructing how we learn best in maths.
We're one week into our Novel Study in R6 and I can see what J K Rowling is talking about.
While most students are relaxing over the holidays, Ada Silva is working harder than ever, performing in Taieri Musical's production of Frozen Jr and The Lion King Jr.

The music knowledge and ability in Room 6 was a pleasant surprise to me (and our music teacher Mrs Bowen Barrett).

An impressive display of teamwork, game sense and individual skill, saw our football team convincingly take out their game against Oamaru Intermediate School.
A key part of the design process is to evaluate the design, then improve and redesign: and that is exactly what we did in Room 6 today.
Our students experienced VR videos filmed by New Zealand Geographic in marine environments around Aotearoa to understand our underwater environments and what threatens them.
We learned about harakeke and how it's uses and the tikanga around harvesting it have clear sustainability values for our whenua (land) and the environment.
Room 6 will miss you.

Wednesday afternoons sees around 120 Tahuna students battling it out on the futsal court.
We look to the sky, set our goals and watch our goals flourish through care, attention and hard work.
