Teeko Challenge

Sean MinhinnickMarch 30, 2023

We're just starting to learn about Teeko and how it can help us with our mathematical learning.

The rules are simple. The game is played on a 5-by-5 square grid. Two players, each have four pieces (tokens) and alternate turns. For the first eight turns, they alternate dropping a piece onto any unoccupied position of the grid.

From here a turn consists of moving any one piece to an adjacent unoccupied position; a move may be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. The goal for each player is to be the first to arrange his pieces into a winning configuration, either a horizontal, diagonal or vertical line of 4 or a square.

We'll be using this as one of our maths warm ups and setting up a class leader board where students will challenge each other to move up the leader board.
