Sporting Update...from Lilah Langi-Scott

When many of her peers are still asleep you can find Lilah Langi-Scott Room 19 in her happy place, on ice at the Dunedin Ice Stadium, spending on average 12hrs on ice a week both before and after school.

Her hard work and commitment to training payed off recently at two National skating events, held in Auckland. She competed in ice speed skating at the New Zealand short track championships, placed first in the Juvenile girls grade. She gaining personal best times over four distances and also received the most promising skater award. Two days later Lilah switched skates to compete at the New Zealand Ice Figure Skating championships in both solo and synchronized skating. She placed first in Basic Novice U12 and her Synchro team Cutting Edge placed first in the Mixed Aged synchronized grade. Lilah's score allowed her to retain her selection for the NZ international B rep team. Cutting Edge also gained selection. She has had great support from her coaches in the various disciplines, and was awarded a Skegg's Foundation grant which helped fund new skates this year.
