Looking sharp, no treble

Once a year our Tahuna strings, woodwind and brass players join with other Dunedin schools to form a massed orchestra.

The day is organised by our Itinerant Music Teachers who visit throughout the week to give individual and small group instrumental lessons. This year's music included "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles and Santana's "Oye Como Va". This is how Tahuna's flautist Lily Barker  described the day:

"On Wednesday the 28th of October, some Tahuna students went to an orchestra day at Kings and Queens. There were heaps of people from other schools and a huge variety of instruments. We practiced 5 songs and performed them at the concert at the end of the day. I learnt a lot about music and playing the flute. It was heaps of fun and a great experience."
