Music

The year has started off with a bang in the music room where the year 8 African Drumming unit is a hit with most students, if not with the administration in the offices across from us.

The year seven classes were welcomed to the music room in week 2 and I hope they will enjoy their classes this year; I have a feeling they are quite a musical bunch, with some great singers.

Though it is early in the year it has been very good to see students form bands and to have our singer songwriters sign up for assembly performances with Ms. Reddington, grabbing those opportunities!

The itinerant music scheme has proved popular too with students signing up to instruments ranging from cello to drums to oboe; it is wonderful to be able to provide these classes within the school.

The Marimba Band will start up later this term and the Orchestra will start in term 2.
