Rock Climbing at Long Beach.

This Term, Room 15 went on a thrilling adventure rock climbing at Long beach! As they navigated the cliffs and scaled the rocks, they are not only challenging their physical strength but also tackled problem solving and teamwork skills.

The sound of crashing waves and warm sunlight created the perfect backdrop for the outdoor classroom. Exploring caves along the shore added an extra element of excitement, as you will see in the photos attached.

Let's not forget to appreciate the amazing parents who supported and encouraged the climbers. Their guidance and enthusiasm played a vital role in fostering a love of exploration and outdoor activities. Together, we created fun memories, filled with laughter, discovery and a sense of accomplishment. Well done Room 15.

Exploring Te Reo Māori: A journey of fun and knowledge with Ms Witana, Miss Harris and Matua Manuel.

Room 15 have been exploring language and culture together in an engaging and enriching environment.

In Term 4 we continue an exciting journey of fun and learning Te Reo Māori with Ms Witana, Miss Harris, and Matua Manuel! Together, and with the overseeing expertise of Manuel, we aim to make learning this beautiful language engaging and enjoyable. Through interactive activities, immersive experiences, and a supportive learning environment, our tamariki have the opportunity to not only expand their linguistic abilities but also deepen their cultural understanding.

Tahuna Staff have taken up the wero with the guidance of Matua Manuel and upskilled themselves in delivering Te Reo Māori lessons that are engaging and manageable.

In Room 15, I organised 3 rotations for the tamariki to experience. Each rotation covered the same kupu but in differing ways. We played Bingo - Matching pairs (card game) and sentence builders.

It was great to have my second year teacher Abby Harris step in and manage a rotation with us.
