Year 7 News

Year 7 trying some modified Olympic sports.

The Year 7 students have been out and about around Musselburgh and Tainui schools this week visiting classrooms and interviewing children as part of the Olympic PBL unit. The Year 7's will be hosting various classrooms from these schools and running Olympic-inspired events.

The classes have also been competing in five modified sports as they work towards our Olympic finals in equestrian, golf, shotput, fencing, and weightlifting. Good luck to each of the team competitors.

Year 8 News

What a super busy and exciting term we have had!

We've experienced camps, swimming, PBL Chemistry, the Oamaru exchange, mid-year reports, and parent-teacher interviews, to name just a few of the many activities that happened this term.

Next term promises to be just as exciting, starting with the Paris Olympics opening ceremony and our PBL Olympics unit. We will visit some of our contributing schools to engage with our community, help develop Olympic values, and teach a new game or sport that our students have developed.

We will also start our Year 8 rock climbing at Long Beach, where every Year 8 class will participate in a full day of activities.

Winter sports will continue, along with another term of electives on Fridays.

Term 3 will also feature an open night for Tahuna in week 3, providing a great opportunity for our students to showcase what Tahuna has to offer.

Additionally, we will have our annual athletics days and school cross country in Term 3.

As you can see, it's a term filled with awesome opportunities for our Year 8 students to make the most of their time at Tahuna.

Ngā mihi,
