On Tuesday we welcomed all Tahuna students back to school in our traditional way. New students and teachers waited outside our hall and were called in and welcomed by Te Taiopeka and the rest of the school. It is a symbolic ceremony that makes the new arrivals become and feel part of Tahuna. Staff were also introduced to the students and a warm welcome was given to our International Students.

The Canteen provides food through ordering Tuesday-Friday. Most food needs to be ordered as it is supplied to the school through outside providers. Students can order in their classroom in the morning. The Canteen is open for sales at lunchtime Tuesday-Friday with limited items for sale.
It's that time of the year for parents who are working with children at school or on camp to be police vetted. Here at Tahuna all parents who assist on an overnight camp or who work alone with our children will be police vetted in line with the ministry’s recommendations.

Every Thursday, Pita Pit LunchOnLine (LOL) orders will available starting from February 7th. Further details are displayed on posters in classrooms and on our school Facebook page. The first Thursday launch on February 7th will include a one-day only special of $3.
Tahuna values are interwoven throughout the classroom programmes and everyday school life. They are also a big part of our reward and acknowledgement system.
Welcome back to a new school year and a special welcome to those families who are new to our school this year. We welcome all returning students as well and put out the challenge to every student to make the most of every opportunity.
