Tahuna hosts Ōtepoti Ukulele Jam at the Beach

Tahuna students Katia Halalilo-Rouvi, Tatum Tuhega-Johnson and Phoenix Tuhega-Vaitipu led the Cook Island drumming on Tiare Rarotonga; and Tahuna rock band the Eight Balls played.

250 strumming students from 13 South Dunedin schools gathered to jam along with the band for a morning.

Alison Caldwell from St Clair School was a fabulous MC and the Ukulele Jam Band - Samuel Leaper, Emily Kerr-Bell, Anthony Breese, Jakira Brophy & Scott Ke - brought the rockstar vibes.

Thanks to the Ukulele Jam funders, Dunedin City Council and the Otago Community Trust, and prize sponsors Tūhura Otago Museum, Moana Pool, Rockshop, Warehouse Stationery, Dunedin Public Art Gallery and Woolworths Supermarket.
