O'Mathalon 2022 Success for Tahuna Teams!

We were so pleased to finally get to compete in the O'Mathalon after a two year break and it all turned out pretty well for our Tahuna teams.

Just in case you're not familiar with it, the O'Mathalon is a unique combination of answering challenging maths questions and then running a full lap of a basketball court to get the answer checked.

It's an intense competition with around 35 to 40 teams per year group. Each team is made up of four students.

We trained hard in the weeks before the O'Mathalon, culminating in our own Tahuna O'Mathalon on the day of the main event. The winners of our Tahuna event were the 7A and 8A teams with all the others not far behind.

Later that day we found ourselves at the Edgar Centre ready for the real thing. Our Year 7 teams performed very well. A special mention goes to the 7A team who came second - well done to the team of Noah Crannitch, Charlie Drew, Mark Luthar and Sam Maley.

Our Year 8 teams did extremely well, taking out three top ten placings (3rd, 7th and 8th). Congratulations to the 8A team of Gregor Watts, Oscar Sharpe, Eddie Bracey and Will Heggie who came third in this very tough competition.
