We have an amazing start to the school year and judging by the feedback from our students they have made the most of the opportunities provided here at Tahuna during the course of Term 1.

Our Term 1 Parent interviews concluded last week with a high turnout of parents and students attending.

On Wednesday 14th April 7-8:30pm Tahuna Intermediate School is presenting an 'Evening of the Arts' in our hall. We welcome parents of performers along to this evening.

Term one after school art classes have come to an end. They are very popular with all the pupils.

Taking workplace safety seriously starts at Tahuna, even if kids sometimes use humour to get the point across.

In Week 5, Room 11 went to Waiora Scout Camp for our Year 8 Camp!

Last week we were treated to a visit from Motocross World Champ, Courtney Duncan. She started with a Q & A in the hall before she entertained us on the field with some wheelies.

Thank you to over 100 of our students who showed up to netball trials at the weekend, and to our amazing teachers for giving up their afternoon!

It was sad to see Mrs Rouvi leave Tahuna after 10 years. Thanks to all the students that made her final assembly very special. We wish her all the best for her new role at DNI.

We are very lucky to have an enthusiastic and knowledgeable art teacher in Ms Smith looking after our after school art lessons. In the many years she has been looking after this group she continues to come up with fun activities for the students who take part. Students this week have been given the design brief of designing finger food products suitable to serve at the Tahuna Arts Evening.

On the 20th and 21st of February, Molly Stumbles (Rm13) and Renee Geddes (Rm9) represented Otago in the Southern Junior Tennis tournament at the Edgar Centre. The Girls played Southland, Southern Lakes and South Canterbury in both Singles and Doubles formats. Both Molly and Renee had an awesome day and loved representing their Otago region. A special mention to Molly who had just spent the previous week at Year 8 Camp then gave it her all for Tennis on Saturday and Sunday. Congratulations Girls.

For the first time this year, all Y8 Camps had the new activity of SnR with Pete. It was very exciting!

Room 12 have been enjoying the student led PE sessions in hockey! Madi Glossop helped lead the session.

It has been 10 Years since the last sighting.

Tahuna had a great day in the rain at the Port Chalmers held triathlon event. We managed to find success in every race category.
