Kelly Sports fun in Term 3

by Jess Lang

In Kelly Sports this term we are lucky enough to get two sessions every two weeks. This term we are getting lots of practice and expert advice on Athletics. So far we have practised our sprinting and running posture. We have played lots of games that help improve our reaction time and practice sprinting. Some of my favourite drills and games so far have been beach flags and head, shoulders, knees and cones!! We can improve our running by remembering to look forward whilst running, This helps by keeping you focused when running, so don't look around or move your head while sprinting. Another thing we can do to improve our running posture is to run on the front of our foot, this helps by making sure you get the most out of each of your steps, so don’t sprint on your heels. For maximum performance the last thing we can do is move our arms, your arms counter your legs keeping you balanced while you run, Keep them in front of you and pump those arms!!!! By Matt Davies
