Over the next three weeks all Year 7's will be working through the DCC Bikes in School Programme. The students will be having three, 1.5 hour sessions to work through the programme. The programme is made up of three main aspects and children have to demonstrate proficiency to the tutors in each grade to progress onto the next.

Grade 1 – Preparing for on-road riding
Grade 2 – Introduction to on-road riding
Led rides – Introduction to independent riding on the road.

While this programme does provide bikes it is preferable that your child brings their own bike and/or helmet. The children will learn how to do a bike check and how to adjust their helmets so they are worn correctly and safely. So it is a great way to ensure their bike is safe and ready for summer.
