Burrell Mural Completed An Article by Sam Watkinson and Mason Roberts
Fifteen kids made an amazing mural for Tahunanui School with the help of our resident artist, Loren.
The theme for the mural was based on maori myths and legends and the stories and important places of Tahunanui. They included the land (whenua), beach (tatahi), the sun (ra) and the sea (moana) which our school houses were named after. There’s also a SAILing ship, our SAIL values and a big wheke (octopus). They were able to paint the mural in under 4 weeks and used all our school house colours which are yellow red blue and green .Thanks to resene for the paint. Everyone is welcome to view the mural on the Burrell building anytime.
