Film Description: 1974, Aotearoa, where ethereal melodies of a boys' choir fill the air, a young Maori orphan named MAAKA finds himself on a transformative and divergent path. Led by his own vulnerability, he bravely traverses the treacherous terrain that lies before him, setting the stage for an extraordinary and profound journey of self-discovery.
Amidst this captivating backdrop, Maaka encounters SISTER JOSEPHINE, a determined nun who becomes his unexpected mentor. Under her guidance, he delves into the art of boxing, an unlikely pursuit that instills in him the ability to defend himself and confront the challenges that lay ahead. Through the age-old relationship between master and student, Maaka learns not only the physical aspects of the sport but also the deeper lessons of discipline, resilience, and honor.
This timeless tale explores the universal themes of courage, determination, and the pursuit of personal excellence. It captures the essence of honoring the bond between mentor and apprentice, showcasing the transformative power of such a connection.
Many Thanks,

Kia ora,
On 1 August 2023, Nelson’s new fleet of electric buses will be on the roads and helping Nelsonians get where they want to go in a cheaper and more environmentally friendly way.
We are currently seeking feedback from directly affected residents about the location of bus stops on the new bus routes. The location of the new routes and bus stops can be seen at https://shape.nelson.govt.nz/catching-ebus
There is also a feedback form on this page, and we would encourage you to provide feedback if you feel these bus stop locations have a positive or negative effect on you or your organisation.
Feedback received before 6 June 2023 will be included in the report to the Hearings Panel that makes the decision on the final location of all the stops. Feedback received after then (and before the 16 June 2023 Hearings Panel) will be tabled at the meeting.
We look forward to receiving any feedback you may have, and hope you are looking forward to seeing electric buses on our roads. More information about the new bus service can be seen at https://shape.nelson.govt.nz/ebus
Ngā mihi,
Paul
