Flying High Project
Hot Air Balloon visit next week Wednesday 17th May
Tāhunanui School has been lucky to be selected for the Flying High Project. Part of this project involves a STEAM education programme to encourage and inspire kids to take up STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) subjects and careers. The Burrell Team have started the programme this term.
A unique part of the programme is the use of a hot air balloon, Dream Big, which will be tethered on our field on Wednesday 17th May from 8.30am (weather permitting). 30 lucky students from Burrell Team will be randomly selected to participate in a tethered flight to give them a bird’s eye view of their surroundings and a broader perspective of their community. Everyone else including the community, are welcome to observe the balloon in action while it is in our school. To ensure the safety of everyone, please stay off the field and on the paved areas unless instructed otherwise. Thank you for your support
