As part of their Writing this term, Manaia have been working hard on producing their wonderful triaramas.

Petipeti had a wonderful experience with two expert football coaches last week. Petipeti did lots of running, dodging, kicking and working together as teams. Thanks coaches, you kept the students engaged.

Petipeti worked in small groups and learnt a new strategy called the ‘Question Formulation Technique’. We were developing questions for the inquiry unit on musical instruments. Each group had a photo and they had to come up with as many questions as they could about the photo. They checked their questions and made sure they were not statements. After that they identified the questions that were open and closed. They realized that open questions are much better to inquire into. They finally identified their best question to provide a road map for their inquiry.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been fortunate enough to have Nelson Suburbs Football Club come into the school and teach us some awesome football skills! Everyone got right into it and learnt something new!
