Tai Tapu School was treated to a fantastic performance by the Strike Percussion Group last week.

Over the last 20 years, Strike has built up a fierce reputation, here and overseas, for powerful and theatrical percussion performances. The group features Murray Hickman, Takumi Motokawa, and Katie Lee. The Strike To Schools concert was an interactive, high-energy 45-minute show drawing on styles from around the world that introduced a broad range of modern percussion to the tamariki at Tai Tapu School. Murray, Takumi and Katie-Lee performed a combination of new material and favourite works from the past 25 years.

Our music specialist teacher Helen Murray is working with talented tamariki to form a Tai Tapu School Percussion Group. The group aim to perform at a large percussion festival at the end of the year.
