ANZAC Poems

We Will Remember

Today

ANZAC Day

Remembering the war time heroes

The lost souls

ANZAC flags...half mast

A win

Peace, freedom

Survivors grieving, lost in a world of brutality and sadness

Family lost

Standing in front of the cenotaph

War...does anyone really win?

ANZAC DAY

Silence, today is ANZAC day,

The world is quiet as everyone pays.

Pays their respects for the ones who suffered

and those whose bodies had been covered.

Covered in the diverse shades of their friends and their foes,

Whatever they went through- well nobody knows.

Nobody knows the traumatizing sights they’ve been forced to live through- full of devastation,

Yet the horrible thing is, this is a product of humanity’s own creation.

Families mourning, Soldier's scorning, they call it ‘freedom’.

Freedom, what a twisted word.

War Has No Winners

Anzac day

When we remember

The heroes that died

Fighting a politicians war

Buried in a field of poppies

Dead to the world

We raise our flags

To remember those lost souls

War has no winners
