William Pike Students in Koropepe are enthusiastic about their Community Service Project

Mandy Aldridge-Neal —

As part of our Senior School, our year 7 and 8 students are involved in the William Pike Challenge.

Last weekend Isabelle, Elsie, Keira, Charlotte and Samantha planted trees on the Port Hills.  They used their own initiative and found a way to give back to our community.  This is a vital component to achieving the William Pike Challenge Award.  Over 100 Schools around New Zealand are involved in this wonderful programme.  It consists of 5 outdoor challenges, 20 hours passion projects and 20 hours of community service.  Our students have really embraced this with positivity and passion.  If you have any ideas of what either small or large groups of students can do to help our community please contact the Koropepe Teachers.  We really need some great projects that our students can get involved in.
