Halo, Talofa lava, Tēnā koutou i te whānau, Greetings!

Tai Tapu School —

As I watched our stunning performances over the last two days of the Wearable Arts Show, ‘Make it your way’, I am reminded of the privilege we have as educators to provide opportunities for our tamariki to shine. What talented students we have at Tai Tapu School. Our community can be so proud! Thank you for being such a supportive audience.

A massive thank you to Deb Whelan. From your original script, stage direction and ability to get the best from our young actors, we value everything you do.

Thank you also to the parents who have created and painted sets, and helped with costuming, ticketing, photography and general helping hands. We appreciate your support and couldn’t get the show on the road without you. Attached photos courtesy of Jade Hebden.

If you read the Selwyn Times you would have noticed another Tai Tapu super star. Frankie Hindson had the opportunity to share her Speaking 4 the Planet speech in the latest Selwyn Council meeting. Wow Frankie! Tai Tapu needs a public transport service and maybe with your efforts, we may just get one. Congratulations on your amazing achievement.

Thank you to those parents who have completed the 2025 planning survey. We would appreciate the information before the end of term so that we can begin planning in the school holidays.

Children’s University: A note for your diaries- Graduation 2024, Thursday 28th November. I will collect all passports to tally up hours at the end of week 1 in term 4. Please make sure your child hands in any marking so I can have it ready for holiday activities.

Have a fabulous weekend. Enjoy the sunshine and see you next week for the last week of term.

Ngā mihi nui,

Helen Schulte
