“We Thinkers”

With support from the RTLB (Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour), Tai Tapu is beginning a social learning adventure with "We Thinkers! Serena Holm is co-teaching with the Koru teachers to develop this Social-emotional programme at Tai Tapu School.

As its name suggests, ‘We Thinkers’ is about group collaboration and providing students with an avenue through which they can learn about themselves, about others, and the dynamics of working and sharing space

This Social Thinking® curriculum helps young verbal learners develop flexible social thinking and problem-solving skills.

Through storybooks and activities, children learn about the social mind, social expectations, and understanding their own and others' thinking.

Social learning centres on understanding thoughts and feelings - the foundation for collaborative play, friendship building, and social interactions.

Children learn to recognise their own thoughts, share them with others, and consider others' perspectives when interacting.
