Week 8 Piwakawaka Update.

Fungai Mabonga —

Spring is a wonderful time for us to explore the sounds, sights, and tastes of the season. We kicked off the week by learning about springtime in our communities when Mrs Shaw was teaching on Monday. We also created beautiful bunny-themed artwork, which are now proudly displayed in our classroom.

This week, we had a guest teacher, Nick Kiddey from the Enviroment Centre, Riverton. He taught us all about composting—what items to add and why, and the difference between “green” and “brown” materials. He also gifted us with a worm farm for our Garden to Table program.

Today, we led the school assembly, and some of Piwakawaka presented their outstanding speeches. I’m incredibly proud of their hard work and effort! We also dressed in red, black and white in support for Blair Vining's legacy.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
