Similes and Alliteration

This week we are showcasing some of our poems.

Alliteration is a fun language trick where you use words that start with the same sound. It makes sentences sound catchy and cool. For example, "Sally sells seashells" is alliteration because it's like a secret code where the first letters of the words are the same. It's like a word game that makes stories and poems sound super interesting and fun to saySimiles are a type of figurative language that are used to make comparisons between two things in order to help the reader or listener understand a concept, object, or idea better. Similes typically use the words "like" or "as" to establish the comparison. They are often used in literature, poetry, and everyday language to create vivid and evocative descriptions.
